Mer's beautiful artwork is the focus of these Bracelets framed by a maine melon brass cuff.
Nantucket is home to three lighthouses. This cuff Bracelet celebrates these iconic landmarks that hold so much history and memories for visitors to the island!
The most popular lighthouse is on Brant Point which takes center stage on our Cuff Bracelet. This lighthouse is familiar to every visitor who arrives by ferry as you round Brant point when approaching Nantucket harbor. It is customary to throw a penny in the water when leaving to ensure a return visit.
Sankaty lighthouse is located on the Eastern shore of Nantucket. This lighthouse is located high on a cliff that is continually eroding. The lighthouse was close to the edge of the cliff and was in danger of going over the edge until it was moved 405 feet Northwest in the second half of 2007. You can spot this one by its iconic red stripe!
The last and most difficult lighthouse to get to is Great Point. Great Point lighthouse is located on the Northeast tip of the island. It was destroyed in March 1984 by a severe 'noreaster' storm and rebuilt in 1986. This lighthouse is accessible only by 4-wheel drive vehicle, unless you are an avid hiker and don't mind walking seven miles in the sand. A special over sand access sticker is required for your vehicle. Make sure you know how to drive on very soft sand. During the summer months many a tourist can be seen a few hundred feet onto the beach with their Jeep buried up to the frame. You really need to know what you are doing. Tows aren't cheap...
